Oh, that would be frustrating. To be fair, the UK's only got better about this in recent years (and indeed it's only in recent times that food in the city centres became edible -- I remember the dark days when my family used to come to the UK on holiday in the 1990s, and the only decent food was Indian restaurants; we joke that the food trends here are basically what food was like in Australia twenty years ago).
