I suspect they will eventually question it in the series, but to be honest for me the problem is more the actual military setting — if a substantial component of the narrative takes place in military training academies, on board military spaceships populated entirely by members of the military, or in battles which are conducted entirely by members of two empires' military, I start to tune out.
