It does, but it really does also feel like the majority of people are acting selflessly out of a sense of community and care for the other people among whom they live. It's quiet, it's small, it's fragile and unglamorous, and we only occasionally catch glimpses of it on our screens, admist the ratings-grabbing chaos and cruelty — but it's there.
