I think what I appreciated about the blog that I linked is that it was a call to critics and reviewers to make more of an effort to understand (social, cultural, psychological) context, rather than just assume something makes no sense or is poorly written because it is confusing in terms of their own (American) context. This lack of effort to understand context just seems like lazy reviewing to me, so the argument the blogger was making really resonated.

I'm not really an artist, but I can see that those tutorials would be extremely useful to people who are, so I appreciate you sharing the link — hopefully other people in my circle will find it helpful.
