I totally agree. Right at the start of the first lockdown last year, my husband and I sat down together and planned a sort of sanity-saving shape of the day for lockdown life (including things like at least one walk or run outside per day, varying activities between work, housework, exercise and relaxing things, etc etc). At the time we obviously thought the pandemic would be over in a month or two, but the original schedule has served us well.
I'm not always as virtuous as I was yesterday, but I always have a day of varied activities, and that's the most important thing. Thankfully, I'm someone who was very organised and focused even before the pandemic, and I always used to plan out my work day in hourly or half-hourly blocks, and I have a strong sense of deferred gratification (do the stuff I don't like first, as quickly as possible, to enable more time to do fun things) — and those personality traits have been a lifesaver during the monotony of lockdown life.
