I had not one, but two pairs of skirt-trousers (which my friends and I called 'skants', i.e. 'skirt-pants,' a portmanteau which sounds as ugly as those items of clothing looked). One pair was black and the skirt was sewn into the trousers, and one pair was grey, and you could unclip the skirt and wear both items of clothing separately.

The nineties were weird.
