Exactly so. As I said in the other comment above to muccamukk, current social media is set up to strongly encourage everyone to click that retweet/share/reblog button without really thinking, and even if such impulses spring from altruistic reasons, I wish people would try harder to resist them. (The number of otherwise sensible people I've seen demanding NATO create a no-fly zone over Ukraine without stopping and thinking what that means really horrifies me.)
