And frankly I knew from the first movie on when Kylo Ren killed Han that he would be 1) redeemed and 2) die and 3) probably at the same moment, and I didn't really care. I mean, I cared because he was important to Rey and I wanted her to be happy in her polycule, but I didn't care about him much as a character. Oh well. Like that essay says
