Are your in-laws the kind of people who need to be entertained a lot? When I visit family or close friends, I personally am more than happy to just chill out, eat some good food, and talk. I enjoy spending time with them, even if we're not doing anything in particular. (Not that it isn't great to do activities together! But to me it isn't a requirement.)

But I also know some people who would get very, very bored with that and always want to be going out and doing things.
