The biggest place I lived in before university had a population of 5K, so. There were two places to drink (in Australia!!) and one was the bowls club. However, it is adjacent to a very popular regional centre so technically there is a lot more to do there now compared to when I was growing up there. Before that, there weren't really 'towns' per se, so hard to have one ^^

I didn't realise Cambridge was so small! best wishes finding some places or things to do.
