I assume any person you were taking around Nashville would have more compatible interests, so no risk of you having to do a country music tour or get trashed in bars, at least.
There probably are a ton of things that I just never think about as a native because my experience of the town is so different than a tourist's.
This is so true! And once you live somewhere long enough, all those things sort of fade into the background — I stopped noticing all the pretty old buildings in Cambridge after a while, and they just became part of the scenery.
