Oh wow, that would have been amazing if it were properly organised! There's certainly a lot of good cycling in that area — I saw lots of other cyclists around Lake Como. The self-guided trip sounds a lot better, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. It really makes a difference being able to end the day in a nice hotel.
