Yeah, that's about what I expected when I saw that Ava Reid was writing a Macbeth retelling. The thing about Reid is, she's talented, but she's not especially innovative; you can see how much she's following the lead of other writers in her cohort. She's not Maya Deane, who's off doing her own thing. So I figured her LM book would follow the general Jennifer Saint/Natalie Haynes/Madeleine Miller playbook.
