That sounds very logical... only the great majority of Americans don't get the period between Christmas and New Year's off. They get Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (if they're lucky, some don't get Christmas Eve). Not Boxing Day as that doesn't exist here. As to New Year's, again at most two days, sometimes one.
