Date: 2010-02-17 02:15 pm (UTC)*The reasons behind other American shows featuring few of the afore-mentioned can be many and varied, and should not always be automatically attributed to discrimination and/or some sort of white-supremacy on the part of the production and/or viewers. People who think it's always this are probably white and trying too hard to not discriminate, or just mildly ignorant of the industry. For example, (personal experience example, I guess, because I know it would be the most accurate) you won't find many asian [in the British sense, Asian subcontinent] people in American film and television, in part because Asian diaspora discourage their children from becoming actors or take up jobs in arts-related fields).
