Beyond Selidor

I see the reaction and understand that but one of the things that puzzles me, especially in the way the recent US election harped on it, is that I don't recall being promised that. Maybe it's because my education was a tad fraught and undergrad took me 9 year and roughly 16 minimum wage jobs but I don't feel like I was promised the future people are lamenting. Yes, I thought I'd have a job with a 401k and healthcare after undergrad and certainly after grad school but I don't and I'm not blaming the government or my education or anyone for failing to deliever what I am owed.
