Some slight relief
Dec. 31st, 2005 11:36 amfour days later and still no visa card. We had to get an emergency amex card, and have dad send us cash via western union. It's been an absolute nightmare, and I'll sad to say that my fondest memories of Rome will probably be of the American Express office!! Honestly, I could probably now walk there in my sleep.
We haven't done anything at all here besides eat, sleep, read, deal with stupid Visa people, and panic. Luckily, we are here until thursday (plenty of opportunity to be robbed again, I suppose!), so hopefully we will now be able to enjoy Rome. Although because it's been so rainy, we haven't wanted to go out much.
I think today we're actually going to see some opera, which will be interesting. I'm not the hugest of opera fans, but I guess in rome, to see it is kind of appropriate! Apparantly they'll all be wearing authentic Renaissance kinds of costumes.
Really, not much has happened.
There's not much more to say, except to wish you all a happy new year!!! May 2006 be filled with joy, happiness and adventures, and may you all never stop wandering, and wondering. (I apologise for the poetics!)
