Mostly I'm just going to fling a few links your way and rant and rave a bit, so feel free to zone out.

I've been meaning for a little while to encourage all of you to check out Raphael's latest webcomic, Noire. I happen to think it's fabulous, and there are only 27 strips up so far, so you won't have to trawl back too far through the archives to get up to date. My favourites so far are #12 and #24. But then they would be, wouldn't they?

I'd also like to point you in the direction of [livejournal.com profile] papersky's blog. She is a fabulous writer, and her poems always astound me. This entry, in particular, is splendid. Make sure you follow all her links, as the poem looks even better when you understand the context.

I've been getting ever so slightly homesick, but seem to be staving it off with copious quantities of the RiotACT interspersed with much listening to Paul Kelly. Those songs...that 'Malbourne' accent...it's like a distillation of childhood and Australia all at once.

I miss stupid things. Walking down to Campos for a latte and an egg and bacon roll in the cool of the morning. The sound of the El Alamein Fountain. The look of the sunlight on Sydney Harbour. The sight of the patisserie where I worked filling up with Christmas specialties. Driving into Canberra, with the red sun lighting up the dusty land, the sweep of the Brindabellas curving around the city protectively. Mimi, bouncing into my room to share her latest musical obsession. The little things.

MS sat next to me in the grad seminar today. I thought I was over it, but apparently not. I spent the entire time clenching my fists in renewed anger that because of him, I'd lost my self-respect for three weeks and lost those three weeks in the process.

I'm working on a rather interesting Secret Project. Expect to find out more soon.
