On a lighter note...
May. 6th, 2021 03:38 pm... it's local election day here in the UK (and elections for the devolved parliaments in Wales and Scotland), and a guy in Oxford had this experience when going to cast his vote!
Thankfully we didn't have any such problems when voting this morning, although there was an alarming moment when the poll workers couldn't find our names on the list ... until they realised they'd been looking at a list of postal voters, not the list of every voter in the constituency.
We now unfortunately live in Tory Central, so I'm not anticipating a good result for our local council, but I've voted, all the same. (And I did get a brief moment of schadenfreude when the 'Vote Conservatives' signs outside one of the huge mansions on my running route got vandalised and now read 'Vote Sleaze'.)
