As you can probably tell from my blog, I highly recommend The Pagan Chronicles. It's five books - Pagan's Crusade, Pagan In Exile and Pagan's Vows are told from the point of view of Pagan Kidrouk, a Christian Arab former Templar squire who lives through the Third Crusade, and then various political upheavals in Languedoc. The fourth book, Pagan's Scribe is told from the point of view of Isidore Orbus, a quiet, grumpy, bookish orphan who would much prefer to read books all day. And the fifth book, Pagan's Daughter (sold as Babylonne in the US), is about Babylonne, a girl who grows up among the Cathar community in the final years of the Albigensian crusade. I love them all to bits.

I certainly don't mind LJ comments. I just can't find a way to turn off the default Dreamwidth message without losing the link to the post on Dreamwidth. (You can change the comment, but then you lose the link, which I like to keep in case anyone wants to add me on Dreamwidth.)

Apologies for the slow reply. I've been travelling.
