Aww, thank you! I think it's more that Little Ronni imprinted hard on Australian YA novels written in the 1990s (in much the way you describe happening to you with anime as a child).

It's weird being in my 'first' fandom when that fandom is me, occasional contributions from someone I first met on LJ who is now exclusively on Tumblr, and crickets, but I wouldn't leave for the world. If nothing else, in my experience small fandoms are generally more friendly places, with less of the hysteria about other fans doing fandom wrong — generally a gentler, calmer community.
