For me it was the UK election last year, rather than the pandemic, although I had moments of wavering and lapsing back into Twitter doomscrolling since that point. It really is much healthier to ruthlessly curate everything — there are better ways to stay informed of current affairs than Facebook or Twitter feeds, after all.

I agree with you about Dreamwidth, and I feel that even if that kind of anti drama does make its way over here, it does so in a way which is either very easy to avoid (just scroll on by the person's post), or summarises the situation in a more measured and comprehensive manner than you would get if you watched it unfold in real time on Twitter or Tumblr.
