Beyond Selidor

It's a fantastic song, and so prophetic in what it was saying about Australian politics at the time, and where the world was heading. I listen back to it from time to time and think, but we were all so happy and relieved, back in 2007, to have voted those ghastly right-wingers out. How could the group have known, even then, what terrible things were going to happen?. But of course the whole point of the song is that in voting out our ghastly government for a reasonably decent centre-left one, we were just repeating a familiar pattern, and everything would unfold in exactly the same way as it had done before.
