Exactly — I'm not leaving social media entirely, I'm just trying to make more room for other stuff so that I don't look back on 2023 the way I did at the end of 2022: wow I spent a lot of time feeling angry and stressed on Twitter!
The no social media before breakfast and after dinner thing was on the advice of another Dreamwidth friend. She'd been advising people who were experiencing anxiety to avoid social media for at least an hour after waking up, and at least and hour-and-a-half before going to bed. Breakfast and dinner seemed the easiest demarcation points for this for me (even though I go to bed later than 1.5 hours after dinner).
