It's really good, although be warned that it's quite heavy on the military history side of things at times (lots of descriptions of specific weapons and battles); if you're not interested in that kind of stuff, those sections can drag in comparison to the bits that focus more on his own experiences and the life stories of his friends, colleagues, family and other people living through the siege.
