I remember back when TikTok became a thing that privacy experts were saying that its data harvesting was particularly aggressive (essentially you consented to its access to all apps and content on your devices, with no easy way to opt out), which made it easy for me to give it a miss. But as you say, all major social media platforms are bad about this, and if I had my time over, I probably would not have signed up for any of them.
