more quotations from the cousins
May. 22nd, 2006 11:32 amwith apologies to any Christians.
Conversation #1 (with Lewis, aged 6, and Marla, aged 4, at the unlit barbeque).
Lewis (rubbing sticks together): I'm trying to light a fire, Marla
Marla: You'll have to rub those sticks together a lot faster if you want to light a fire, Lewis.
Lewis: I am.
Marla (in a lecturing tone, as if explaining to an idiot): I can't see any red or orange bits, so you're not doing it fast enough.
Conversation #2 (while Lewis and Marla are playing with a tea set. My sister Miriam walks in).
Miriam: What are you doing?
Lewis: We're having a polite tea party.
Miriam:...?
Lewis: The most polite tea party ever! It's as polite as Jesus, playing cards!
?!?!?! Sometimes I just don't know...
Anyway, I'll stop with all the tedious anecdotes, because I have to have lunch!
