Happy Gravy Day, you marvellous people!
I hope you are close to exactly the people you want to be at this time of year, even if you (like me) are physically far apart.
On a related note, I can't figure out how I feel about this: the original Paul Kelly song is sung from the perspective of a man in prison, and this year it was covered by First Nations prisoners with Pitjantjatjara translation as part of a prison education program.

Date: 2022-12-26 11:39 am (UTC)I feel like the exercise of translating and singing it is a fairly normal thing to do in terms of prison education programs — activities that draw on the inmates’ experiences and so on. What feels exploitative is releasing it to the public and making a fuss about it in the media, although of course that was inevitable as soon as the media discovered its exist.
