This one's stolen from Tumblr...

1. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
He's my boyfriend, so absolutely!

2. What's the closest thing to you that's red?
My beanie, which is on my head.

3. Tell me about the last dream you remember having.
I was at some kind of exhibition launch at the Australian National Gallery. You know the deal, fancy sparkling wine, finger food, bunch of middle-class arty types hanging around, dressed in black clothes and chunky jewellery. I was there with my mother, and for some reason, we'd wandered on to an upper floor. When we looked over the edge of the balcony, we could see the festivities going on, way down below us, in one of the gallery's cavernous rooms. We wanted to get back down there, so when we came upon a staircase, spiralling downwards so far that we couldn't see its end, my mother urged me onto it. I took one step and was gripped with a paralysing vertigo. I stood there, clinging to the wall, and could go no further. I begged and pleaded with my mother to let me go back, to try and find another way down, but she was relentless, telling me there was nothing to be afraid of and that I had to keep going. I didn't move, and worked myself up into such a frenzy of fear that I woke up.

When you know what our relationship is like, that dream suddenly makes a whole lot of sense.

4. Did you meet anybody new today?
No. I haven't seen anyone besides my boyfriend all day.

5. What are you craving right now?
Sleep.

6. What comes to mind when I say 'cabbage'?
Sauerkraut.

7. What does your last text say?
It's from my former housemate D, informing me that she is going to see Florence + The Machine in concert this weekend. I'm jealous.

8. Do you bite into your ice-cream or just lick it?
Bite.

9. Do you like your hair?
At this particular moment, no, as it's gone all curly from the rain. I'm happy with my latest haircut, though, and after years of dyeing my hair black with henna, am finally appreciative of its natural colour.

10. Do you like yourself?
To be honest, yet. There are a couple of aspects of my personality and behaviour that I would like to not so much change as train to work better (eg, I'm quite a passive and accommodating person, and I'm happy to be that way, but would like to be better able to recognise people who would take advantage of this, so as to steer clear of them). But mine is the voice that's been in my head for 27 years, and for the most part, it's a voice that I like having around.

11. Have you ever met a celebrity?
Depends on your definition. Due to my parents' jobs, I've met most well-known political journalists in Australia. I've met most of the authors whom I admire. I've sold cakes and pastries to David Wenham. And Sigrid Thornton (an Australian actress) once advised me on which coat to buy in a Paris clothing shop.

12. Do you like cottage cheese?
It's a little bland, and the consistency sometimes makes me shudder (I have issues with creamy things sometimes). Mixed in things, especially stuff like spinach pie, it's all right though.

13. What are you listening to right now?
'Risingson' by Massive Attack.

14. How many countries have you visited?
12. Indonesia, New Zealand, Japan, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy, the Netherlands, the US, Germany. And I'm from Australia.

15. Are your parents strict?
Well, since I'm 27, this isn't particularly relevant to my life now. When I was a child and teenager, my friends thought my mother was strict, but she never seemed so to me. Rather, she seemed to know me, and the limitations of my comfort zone, well enough to be able to judge what I should and shouldn't do. An example: when I was 16, I was on the verge of leaving the rather toxic friendship group in which I found myself. The thing that forced me to finally realise how unsuited I was to this group was the birthday of one of the girls. She wanted to basically buy some bottles of alcohol and hang out in a park. Those of you who know Canberra will realise what a dumb idea this was: there are very rarely people out on the streets in Canberra, especially at night time, and a group of drunken sixteen-year-old girls on there own in a park was a spectacularly stupid plan. My mother refused to let me go, and it was only after I had half-heartedly protested her decision that I realised how relieved I was to be forbidden to do something that I didn't want to do at all.

16. Would you go sky-diving?
No. Emphatically no.

17. Is there anything sparkly in the room you're in?
My bag has sparkly silver writing on it in Korean.

18. Who sits behind you in maths class?
I haven't had a maths class since 2002. And the desks in that school were arranged in a horseshoe shape, so there wouldn't have been anyone behind me. I usually sat with either [profile] anya_1984 or [personal profile] catpuccino, though.

19. Do you own something from Hot Topic?
No. As far as I know, we don't have Hot Topic in Australia, and I've certainly never seen it in the UK, either. I own a pair of trousers from Dangerfield, though, which seems to be the Australian equivalent.

20. Have you ever slapped someone?
Yes, but I wish I hadn't.

21. Are you sarcastic?
Not really. I'm kind of earnest.

22. Do you have any tattoos?
No. Oww. No.

23. Where was your default picture taken at?
My default LJ icon was made by [profile] peppermintsheep. My default Dreamwidth icon was made by [profile] losseniaiel and is taken from a picture by [profile] sophiamcdougall that she drew of her character Una.

24. Have you ever crawled through a window?
Yes. On multiple occasions.

25. Have you made a prank phone call?
Yes. When my sister and I were younger, we used to hang out with C, the daughter of some family friends. When we were left to our own devices, we used to call the number for Neverfail Spring Water and request...I'm not sure what. We also once called the Jim Beam Helpline. We also spent lots of time hanging around in primitive chatrooms (this was in the late 90s), offering people jobs which paid $1 million a year and came with a company car. A surprising number of people thought our offer was genuine. Yeah, I don't know why we did that stuff at all.

Yay for climbing out of windows in maths class!

And yes, it was extremely childish, but also lots of fun.
