dolorosa_12I'm not sure how many of you know this, but two weeks ago my sister Nell was born. This is Nell:
It's incredible to be faced with a newborn baby. They seem to have so much *potential* inside them; there's no way of telling what is behind their eyes. It's just incredible to think that anyone can be that small! I'm so much older than Nell, I'm like a bizarre doting aunt.
I hope that the world is a beautiful place for her. I hope that nothing ever hurts her. I hope that she goes through life with her eyes open, ever thinking, ever questing, ever asking *why*. I hope that she does her best with this wonderful, beautiful accident that is the human consciousness.

With three older sisters, I hope you've got a strong sense of humour and infinite patience - and a good level of stubbornness!
