Locked out.
Dec. 6th, 2007 08:35 pmWell, I've had a 'fun' 24 hours. Last night at 10.30 I went to bed. I was exhausted because I'd been up late chattering to people who live in far parts of the world. Just before I went to bed, the toilet overflowed. (It always gets blocked like this). I wanted to stay somewhere with a functioning toilet, so I called my dad (who lives in the same city) and got him to take me to his house. So I slept on an air mattress in my dad's living room.
When I got to work the next day, I called the agents to get them to send a plumber around. Because I can't drive, I had to get the agents to lend the plumber a key and have him lock up.
When I got home from work today, I discovered that the plumber had locked the SCREEN DOOR as well as the normal door. I don't have a key to the screen door. After a fruitless 10 minutes spent trying to break into the house, I gave up. Thankfully, I'd been driven home by friends, and they offered to drive me to my dad's house, which is close to their house.
All I can say is thank god I'm paranoid about my computer and insisted on bringing it with me to Dad's, and thank god I decided to change, rather than just going to his house in my pyjamas. (otherwise I'd have no clothes for tomorrow).
