dolorosa_12I feel like I let the geek side down, because I did not realise that today was the 10th birthday of The Matrix. I can't remember my first impressions of it. I think I first saw it at one of the many sleepovers I went to during my years at Telopea. But what I really remember about watching The Matrix was the time when we saw it at IB camp in Year 11. The schedule said 'ToK [Theory of Knowledge] film'. I expected we'd be getting some kind of managerialese training video. Instead, we got The Matrix. My 16-year-old self starting to think 'they're pretty cool at this school, huh?'
As usual, other people have been much better at summing up the whole business. Today's xkcd was first off the mark, and very nicely done, too. There's a pretty neat article about it up on Coilhouse.
Also, I'm blotting out all memory of the sequels from my mind.
