I really must get my hands on the sequel...
I urge you again to get hold of Sword at Sunset (http://www.amazon.com/Sword-at-Sunset-Rosemary-Sutcliff/dp/1556527594/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214784681&sr=1-1). You can also read The Lantern Bearers (http://www.amazon.com/Lantern-Bearers-Rosemary-Sutcliff/dp/0374443025/ref=pd_cp_b_2?pf_rd_p=317711001&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1556527594&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1ZZERRCRYK8J064AJFWP), which is a wonderful book in its own right - possibly the best of her Roman Britain children's books - and which comes immediately before Sword at Sunset, featuring a young Artos (Arthur) as a minor character.
