The actor Riz Ahmed is also a rapper, and he's just released an album, The Long Goodbye. The clue is in the name: it is a justifiably furious breakup letter to Brexit Britain, full of grief and rage at the weight of what it is to be Muslim, and of South Asian descent, and British in a Britain which has always been hostile to your very existence, and increasingly so.
The album (and one of its songs) is accompanied by the below incredible short film. To say it is powerful would be a monstrous understatement. It punches in the heart, like an accusation.
[Content warning: virulent, violent Islamophia and racism. If you require more detailed descriptions of what this content entails, ask me in the comments.]
