Something about grey areas
Jul. 25th, 2008 09:48 pmRambling post about the notion of evil as explored in Dr Horrible and The Dark Knight, spoilers abound.

Date: 2008-07-25 02:16 pm (UTC)'The Dark Knight' was ok. It was a story that was two hours too long, about a rich boy masquerading as a superhero, trying to 'protect' the world from a villain without purpose. I don't think that the film was as dark as I expected it to be, and Batman did nothing out of the ordinary. Two-face was the only character I found to be moderately interesting, and that's because he had purpose and character-development.
I'm really disappointed at how unimpressed I was. Though that said, Mr Whedon spoils me.

Date: 2008-07-25 02:23 pm (UTC)By the way, you might be able to help me with the quote from Angel (season 5) about grey areas. I'm sure Gunn says it, and it's something like 'The next person who says "grey area" will be shot/punched/etc'. I can't for the life of me remember it...

Date: 2008-07-25 02:41 pm (UTC)ANGEL: Uh-huh... So are we doing this because it's right... or because it's cost-effective?
GUNN: Uh, well, a little of both actually.
WESLEY: Yes, oddly, once again we find ourselves in a bit of a grey—
ANGEL: Don't...
WESLEY: —area.
ANGEL: ...say that! Can we just get through one damn day without saying that?

Date: 2008-07-25 02:47 pm (UTC)Knew I could count on at least one of my mad Whedonista friends to find me the quote. I was going to have to watch all of Season 5 to find it, otherwise, since Google was not being my friend tonight. Then again, that wouldn't have been too bad.
Thank you.
